  • Ingredients

    Aconite Napellus 10x & 200c (Monkshood)
Aconite is used for any sudden shock resulting in fright, fear or anxiety. Indications include; restlessness with fear and anxiety so severe the sufferer thinks he is going to die. Signs are worse at night so a night storm, particularly at midnight, is even more frightening. It is useful where there is a cold, dry, northerly wind. Equally, during summer heat the fright can lead to diarrhea with fever, which can become bloody and foul smelling if neglected. Any symptoms from sudden fright will yield to its action. Its use helps with fear of noise. This plant grows in damp covered areas, high in the mountains where it is stormy and windy.

Avena Sativa 7x & 2c (Common Oat Plant)
Avena Sativa is soothing without creating an addictive or sedating habit. It has a selective action on the brain and nervous system. It is pre-eminently an anti-neurotic for calming the nervous system and is useful in palpitations and nervous exhaustion. Like all components of Storm Stress, it can be started and stopped suddenly with no side effects or withdrawal period, and will act quickly when administered

    Belladonna 30c (Deadly Nightshade)
Belladona is useful for animals suffering sudden fear, accompanied by a bounding pulse, with an audible, thumping heartbeat, palpable by placing a hand on the chest. The pupils are usually widely dilated, often accompanied by meowing, barking or screeching from terror. It is an ingredient for acute states of panic where there is hyper-vigilance that can, in the worst cases, extend into convulsions, thus it is a great ingredient for epileptic-type states. Those requiring the use of homeopathic Belladonna are very sensitive to noise and light, particularly the flash of lightening. Animals requiring it can often act as if rabid with fear, exhibiting behaviors such as - drooling, trashing, barking and even involuntary urination among other signs of fear. These animals often try to hide during a storm

    Borax 6c & 30c (Borate of Sodium)
    Gunshots, loud noises, sudden noises

    Calcarea Phosphorica 30c & 200c (Calcium phosphate)
Individuals benefitting from this are often narrow chested and friendly. They start at sudden sounds and can be destructive, clawing and chewing objects.

    Gelsemium 6c, 30c & 200c (Yellow Jasmine)
Used for anticipatory anxiety with trembling and the animal becomes paralyzed with fear. Diarrhea or involuntary urination may occur when under extreme stress.

    Lycopodium 6c & 30c (Lycopodium)
Anticipatory anxiety in individuals prone to digestive upsets or where digestive upsets occur from anxiousness. They are usually individuals who lack confidence.

    Natrum Carbonicum 30c & 200c (Carbonate of Soda/Washing soda)
Classically, super alert to the least external impression, starting at the least thing.

    Natrum Muriaticum 30c (Common Salt)
Great thirst with flooding of litter tray in cats never seen going to toilet often weight loss or fluid retention such as edema due to anemia.

    Passaflora 7x & 2c (Passion flower)
This is a calming remedy having a quietening effect on the entire nervous system. Its action is in many ways similar to Avena Sativa, but those requiring it are more prone to anxiety that can even extend to convulsions. It once again has much in common with the other remedies in this complex for having the advantage of being swift acting and non-addictive.

    Phosphorus 6c, 30c, 200c & 1M (Mineral Phosphorus)
Super-sensitive to all external impressions, with a fear of the dark, thunder, and sudden noise. Friendly, yet vet-phobic, anticipating any intervention. They are often thirsty and are typically the super-friendly.

    Rhododendron 6c (Rhododendron chrysanthum)
Like Phosphorus individuals, Rhododendron types are so sensitive to the approach of a storm that they will hide even before the storm arrives. In one case, this remedy was used so successfully on the owners dog that the owner requested extra remedy for future use. When this was used up more quickly than expected, its use was questioned by the veterinarian, where upon the owner admitted to having had lain under the bed with the dog during thunderstorms and now, after both taking the remedy, neither have to hide. They are as much affected by windy, or wet, stormy weather as they are by thunder, even to the extent of getting stiff just before the arrival of this type of weather. Some patients who are of the Rhododendron type and suffer from arthritis that is aggravated both before and as a result of a storm find that the use of the complex for the Storm Stress also alleviates the arthritis.

    Silica Terra 30c & 200c (Pure Flint)
Silica is the most common substance on earth, giving structure to plants and many creatures, forming some of the most beautiful and delicate structures known. Those needing Silica have a want of grit and are sensitive to all external impressions. These individuals are usually very chilly. They are strongly affected by changes of weather, noise, and light, all of which are greatly magnified as storms, hurricanes, tornados, thunder, lightening, fireworks, etc.

    Staphysagria 6c & 30c (Stavesacre)
Anxiety symptoms associated with this remedy's sphere of action are commonly found in cats for example humiliation and indignation often associated with a change in behavior associated with surgical intervention such as neutering or bullying by another leading to inappropriate urination behaviors' such as spraying, skin eruptions or cystitis from emotions.

    Valeriana 7x & 2c (Valerian Root)
Valeriana is a remedy for hysteria. Like Staphysagria there is a general over-sensitiveness. Like Stamonium and Phosphorus, there is a fear of the dark and a dread of being alone. One of the features of many storms is a darkening of the sky. This sensitivity to darkness is something that many of the remedies in the Storm Stress complex help, even fireworks are normally associated with the dark. Hysteria with over-sensitivity, especially when alone in the dark, is something that Valeriana is particularly good at easing while still being non-habit forming.

    Scutellaria Lateriflora 7x & 2c (Blue skullcap)
Restlessness or unease from nervous fear or excitement.

    Stramonium 30c (Stink-weed)
Inappropriate urination after fear fright terror bladder weakness or paralysis

    Useful Information

One dose (10 drops) every 15 minutes up to 4 doses if needed.

In acute cases, the doses can be given every 5 minutes up to 6 doses until response is seen.

Pets less than 2 lbs, dilute 1 drop in oz water then give 1-5 drops of medicated water dependent on size of pet or mist the air for treatment by olfaction (inhalation), especially useful in frightened pets difficult to medicate or those sensitive to the alcohol preservative.

PREVENTION WHILE OWNER IS AWAY: 15 drops of product may be put in the water bowl for each dog who is home alone during storm season or similar events. Discontinue treatment as condition improves.

Optimally, the liquid preparation should be dropped directly on to the mucous membrane of the mouth including lips; ideally in dogs by pulling out the labial pouch, and in cats by raising the head until the mouth opens. Where an animal finds this distressful or an owner is unable to comply, the medication can be put in the food, water or milk. Where animals are sensitive to the odor of the alcohol preservative, a 10-20 minute period should be allowed for dilution and evaporation before the liquid or food is presented to the patient. Occasionally, animals will shake their heads as a response to the alcohol preservative; cats may salivate excessively and in these cases presenting it in food, water, milk or aerosol works.

    YOUR PET'S SYMPTOMS
  • Barking, whining, howling, yelping crying
  • Pacing, panting, restlessness
  • Hiding under table, in bathroom, behind couch
  • Cowering, trembling, shaking
  • Drooling, vomiting, pooping
  • Destructive behavior
  • Bolts, runs away

  • ADVERSE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS:
None known, other than reversible effect of overdosage. Overdosage will result in a return of symptoms after the symptoms have initially disappeared. Where a return of symptoms occurs while on the medication, ceasing to use it will alleviate the effect. Patients who are hypersensitive to homeopathic preparations will show response to a single dose, which may not need to be repeated for some time. For this reason therapy should always start with a single dose the previous day and should a major response be seen, therapy should not be recommenced until symptoms relapse, and then only a single dose given for maximum effect. Although no evidence exists to the contrary, care should be taken with its use in pregnant animals as low potency homeopathics are historically not regarded as totally safe in pregnancy, despite their lack of chemicals. Should a suspected adverse reaction be seen or advice needed, please contact HomeoPet, LLC. Contact your veterinarian if problems persist.

    DRUG INTERACTIONS:
None known. For animal use only. Keep out of reach of children.

    PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS:
Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and away from strong odors.

    USER SAFETY:
No adverse effects have been recorded. There have been reports to the company of beneficial rather than adverse effects. As homeopathics are active in humans, care is advised when handling product, although a long history of homeopathics used in humans shows a very high safety margin.
