Douxo Chlorhexidine PS is an antiseptic lathering solution with special moisturizing ingredients, including chlorhexidine, climbazole and phytosphingosine for the management of superficial and severe skin conditions.

For effective control of the condition, this product should be used with Douxo Chlorhexidine Micro-emulsion Spray and/or Douxo Chlorhexidine + Climbazole Mousse.

  • Chlorhexidine and climbazole helps control bacteria and fungi populations.
  • Lipacid helps restore the skin barrier by moisturizing and leaving a lipo-protidic file deposited on the skin. This also helps regulate associated seborrhea and inflammation.
  • Phytosphingosine – salicyloyl is a modified pro-ceramide which possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-seborrheic properties, helping eliminate pruritus and itching.
  • Deposits long-lasting film resists rinsing and protect from irritations and loss of moisture.
  • Treating itchy skin is very important as it can affect your pet's quality of life. Prolonged itching can lead to injury, infection or even scarring, so it's best to treat appropriately.

    Best Shampoo for Sensitive Skin!

I have been using this shampoo for years. Calms skin irritations and cleans thoroughly. Leaves your dog smelling clean but not perfumy.
I bathe my dog once a week and it doesn't dry his skin out.

    It works

Vet recommended this shampoo for Golden with very itchy skin and it works a lot better than the many other shampoos I've tried over 7 years. It's more of a gel so best to put it on hands, rub them together then put on a wet dog. I leave it on for 10 minutes then thoroughly rinse it off. Faint smell when you put it on which doesn't last.

My vet recommended this for our springer with cushings disease. Skin infections are a big problem with cushings. Wow!! Great stuff. Was able to stop antibiotics.

    Pricey but worth it

My dog had bumps all over his back, head, neck and some on his sides... my vet was not certain what it was but advised giving Benadryl and this shampooing a few times a week... I think it was a combination of bug bites ( afew), over-brushing and applying a tick preventative. Regardless, both the Benadryl and the shampoo helped tremendously. It lathers nicely too, unlike some of the medicated shampoos. He smells clean and it did not soften the coat; left it the way it should be.

We started using this shampoo on our yellow lab, Jake, about a year and a half ago. He has severe skin allergies. This stuff is great! It cleared his skin up in no time! It\'s all we use on him!

This is the best antibacterial shampoo for dogs. Our Golden Retriever has severe allergies causing bacterial(Staph) skin infections. This shampoo recommended by our dog dermatologist works great. It has a pleasant smell and dries up the skin lesions.

Douxo Chlorhexidine shampoo - Sept. 2009
    September 22, 2009
Last year my veterinarian recommended that I try this shampoo on my 7 year old Golden Retriever. We had spent thousands of dollars on allergy testing with subsequent monthly allerge shots, cortisone injections for itching, every type of allergy shampoo, etc. with no luck. Jazzy was miserable, and so were we - she smelled \"like a dog!\" and scratched constantly, losing much of her hair in the process. Then, I tried this shampoo - OUR LIVES, including hers, are changed!!!! Her coat is beautiful, no itching, and the smell is completely gone! We have used this shampoo consistently for the past year or so - it is amazing! I dilute it with water to make it easier to apply to her thick coat and leave it on her about 10-15 minutes to allow it to \"soak in\" to the skin! It is a wonderful product!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!!

I have 3 Sharpeis that start chewing their feet and legs every summer due to grass pollen. I have been using this product for only 2 weeks now and their itchiness is all but gone. You have to give baths more often but it is worth it nor to see them in agony anymore.

    Great shampoo

This is a wonderful shampoo for pets that suffer from allergies or other skin conditions where an antiseptic cleansing and moisturizing is concerned. Special ingredients leave the coat clean smooth and very pleasant smelling. Moisturizing ingredients stay on the skin and don\'t rinse out making it last.
