We suggest you keep your cat or dog on AminAvast® for their entire life.
Millions of doses of AB070597, the active ingredient in AminAvast®, were given to animals in the field and over a two year clinical study. There were no adverse effects during the study, either symptomatic or hematological.
AminAvast® compliments a protein restricted diet. There are no known drug interactions or concerns about the oral administration of AminAvast® while your pet is taking medications, but be sure to discuss your plans with your veterinarian.
AminAvast® is easy to use. The capsule can simply be broken open and used as a powder. For finicky cats, or those whose appetite is diminished, take a small syringe (about 3ml) and fill it with 1.5 ml of water. Dispense the water into a small cup, mix with the contents of the AminAvast® capsule, then draw the solution back into the syringe, and then squirt the contents of the syringe into the cat's mouth. Be sure to slowly squirt into the side of the mouth and never at the back of the throat. Always syringe slowly to avoid spilling or choking. Talk with your veterinarian for the safest options for your pet.
While every pet is unique, study results have shown that most cats and dogs benefit from AminAvast® within a few weeks.
Some cats and dogs will start experiencing health benefits soon after starting AminAvast®, but the best way to know is to talk to your veterinarian about ways to measure improvements in your cat's or dog's health.
There was a comprehensive two-year clinical study involving a large number of cats and a smaller study which included dogs. All individuals in the studies benefited from taking AB070597. Talk to your veterinarian about whether AminAvast® might be right for your cat or dog.
You should speak to your veterinarian, but there have been no reported problems for cats with a history of hyperthyroidism while taking AB070597.
No, there's no conflict (contraindication) in administering AminAvast® along with a potassium supplement to cats or dogs, but be sure to consult with your veterinarian.

My 16 year old cat in stage 3 renal failure has been on aminavast for about 2.5 weeks. These are the visible improvements: she is able to jump up on a chair without a step stool; her coat is less dry and cottony; for 2 days in a row, no flood in the litter pan, which I assume means she is drinking less which I assume means she is feeling better which means the pills are helping. Note: at the same time we started her on Hills tuna wet k/d and the dry as treats...so no doubt it is a combination of causes. But I am thinking the direct dosing of amino acids rather than as an ingredient in food is the main cause. Anyway, praise God for her improvement.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews on anything...but this stuff is amazing! My 20 year old female cat with kidney failure has been taking this for a little over 1 week. Being diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney failure was a bit of a shock, even though I am a 16-year-old cat. Unfortunately, I did not tolerate subcutaneous fluids well, and my human was worried. I mean, the lab numbers indicated I shouldn't even be walking around My vet suggested adding AminAvast to my food, as it had helped other animals she had treated. Well, my human has been adding to my food for 10 months now, and I am happy as a clam - staying hydrated, and still the old tomcat I once was (well, maybe that last part is in my mind). My human and I both think the AminAvast has played a huge part in keeping me the lovable and active guy I am, giving me a better quality of life for what time I have left.

We have an adult Rat Terrier, 15 YO experiencing mid-stage Kidney failure. Not to belabor the point, the prognosis was very bad: Life expectancy: Days to 2 weeks.We put her on prescription food, high carbs, and this product. That was 11 weeks ago. She's still with us! We sprinkle two caps of this product over her meals and she gobbles it up. She seems to like it. We use 3-4 caps a day on two meals. She may not be with us long...but she definitely has been with us LONGER because of this treatment.
Works. Dog likes it. Caps make dosing guess-work free.
It'll get pricey over time. WTH you didn't get a pet to save money.

This is a great supplement for my cat with chronic kidney disease. Diagnosed almost four years ago and still going strong. I sprinkle a capsule of Aminavast and a phosphate binder on my cats prescription canned food every day. I rate her health by the four P's: peeing, pooping, purring, playing. As long as she's doing all four of those, she's generally doing well. Thank you Aminavast!

I am currently using this product for a 17 yr old cat with kidney failure. I have used it for about 2 months and can already see a great improvement. I have a cat who suffers from CKD. AminAvast helps his kidney function and seems to encourage his appetite. The supplement is easily administered by breaking apart the capsule and sprinkling the powdered supplement on to his food.

Along with epakitin twice a day, Renavast has helped Jasper live on with kidney failure for many years. He's about 18 now and has had kidney failure for more than seven years. It's expensive to medicate for so long, but well worth all the expense.

Saving my cat's life!

It will take about two months for noticeable results but this product is saving my cats life. Our useless Vet told me that my cat Willow had the beginnings of kidney disease and that she was dying and that there was nothing she could do. I was told about AMinavast and started her on this immediately. (along with STandard process renal support) I mix it into her food. Please give it some time to work and make sure your cat is eating wet food! I even caved and started giving my little girl some seafood wet food cuz she absolutely loves it and its helped her gain wet. (yes I know seafood isn't great for them but getting her to eat was the most important priority esp since the Aminavast was mixed into her food.) Best lifesaving product!

Glutamine, as one of the body's main amino acids, is thought to be a safe supplement when taken at recommended dosages. ... High dosages of glutamine may pose a risk to pets with epilepsy. If your pet is taking anti-convulsant medications,glutamine should only be used under veterinary supervision.
